Welcome to WIR

Current issues relating to water as a resource are the focus of the departments rewa & siwawi and tectraa e.V.

The Institute Water Infrastructure Resources - WIR is a thematic merger of the departments Urban Water Management (SiWaWi), Resource Efficient Wastewater Treatment (rewa) and the Center for Innovative Wastewater Technologies (tectraa) of the RPTU Kaiserslautern Landau e.V..

WIR combines and links the different areas of urban water management in teaching and research. WIR is dedicated to the development and implementation of innovative, future-proof solutions for the sustainable use of water and wastewater resources and the necessary infrastructure systems in the urban environment.

To this end, the departments siwawi and rewa - also in cooperation with national and international partners - work on both basic and application-oriented research projects in close technical coordination with tectraa, whose focus is on technology and knowledge transfer.
