On Saturday, November 2nd, the Building Systems and Building Technology Department welcomed several students to the Saturday LearnING format at the RPTU Kaiserslautern. First, a lecture by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sabine Hoffmann drew attention to the relevance of the building sector for the success of the energy transition and also introduced the topics of heating requirements and energy certificates. In the second part of the event, the participants were then able to build a so-called CoMoS station themselves in a workshop, which can be used to measure various factors that influence thermal comfort. In the future, the measuring stations built will also be used to carry out measurements in school buildings in order to identify potential savings.
As part of Saturday LearnING, various departments of the Civil Engineering Department organize an event every Saturday in November to inspire students from the region to study civil engineering at the RPTU.
