New staff member at the GST department
New employee in the department
Dr. Mônica Martins Pinto has been a new employee in the department since April. With a background in architecture, she has spent the past decade researching energy efficiency, thermal performance, and thermal comfort in buildings. Last year, she completed her Doctorate at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) in Brazil, focusing on assessing thermal comfort in highly glazed buildings through computer thermal simulation.
In her role within the department, Dr. Pinto will primarily contribute her expertise to the ADAPT project. This initiative focuses on developing mitigation and adaptation strategies for overheating and heat stress in the Greater Region countries, with a special focus on buildings housing vulnerable populations.
