Flexible heat storage and distribution system for self-sufficient heating and cooling of buildings
Climate protection and sustainability are becoming increasingly important in all areas of life. With regard to the building stock, the German government plans for it to be almost climate-neutral by the middle of this century. At 69 %, a large part of the energy demand of buildings is needed for heating and cooling. In addition to building technology, technical building systems also play a decisive role. In order to achieve the above-mentioned goals, solutions for largely energy-autonomous buildings with a high proportion of renewable energies, which can be quickly brought to serial use and thus implemented as cost-effectively as possible, are needed now.
The aim of this project is to develop an overall system for buildings that makes the best possible use of existing environmental heat, stores it, redistributes it and feeds it back into the system. New innovative storage systems are to be developed and these are to be networked with conventional ones, so that heat can be stored and released both long and short term to ensure the most self-sufficient heat supply possible without the use of additional work.
The project is supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research with the funding initiative KMU-innovativ, takes place in cooperation with the company Innogration GmbH and has a duration of two years.
